SWAFFORD rites set

Services for Paul B. SWAFFORD will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the Raymond Funeral Home with the Rev. David Kennedy officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

SWAFFORD died about 9 a.m. Tuesday while driving his rendering truck at the west edge of Batavia. The truck veered to the right off the pavement into a snowbank. He died of an apparent heart attack.

Paul B. SWAFFORD was born Feb. 23, 1912, at Morning Sun, the son of Ivan and Hazel WEYERMAN SWAFFORD. He was reared and educated in Morning Sun. He moved to Fairfield 40 years ago where he has operated a rendering service in the area.

His marriage to Ethel E. BONAR took place May 21, 1938 at Burlington. An Army veteran of World War II, he was a member of the Methodist Church, Eagles Lodge and American Legion.

SWAFFORD is survived by his widow; one son, Jerry, Fairfield; three grandchildren; one stepsister and one stepbrother. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
