Van T. LAWSON Taken in Death

Van T. LAWSON, 75, Libertyville, died this morning at the Veterans Hospital in Iowa City.

Last rites will be held at the Weston Behner Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be in Fell Cemetery near Libertyville.

LAWSON, who had been a resident at the Nelson Nursing Home, entered Veterans Hospital on Jan. 13.

He was born May 10, 1897, in Jefferson County, the son of Thomas and Ida McCASLIN LAWSON. On Jan. 11, 1922, he was married to Bertha M. SCOVEL. She died March 20, 1961.

LAWSON was a veteran of World War I and was a member of the American Legion. He farmed in the Libertyville Community for many years.

He is survived by two sons, Edwin C. LAWSON of Fairfield and Max LAWSON of Burlington; two daughters, Mrs. Vivian HELFENSTINE of Kansas City, Mo., and Mrs. Evelyn CLINGAN of Farson; 13 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, one brother, Lawrence LAWSON of Fairfield and one sister, Clara LAWSON of ELDON.

(Van's mother was acutally Ida McCAUSLAND. I have done research on the LAWSON lineage for over 40 years.)
