Alva SCHWARTZ, 92, died Aug. 11 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kan.
Services were held Monday at Flanagan-Hunt Mortuary in Wichita with burial in White Chapel Memorial Gardens there.
Mr. SCHWARTZ was born July 27, 1891 in Libertyville, a son of William and Sarah TROUT SCHWARTZ. He was one of 11 children, all of whom preceded him in death. On July 18, 1946, he married Velma TINDALL, who preceded him in death. He is survived by nieces and nephews.
SCHWARTZ served in the U. S. Army in WWI with the 349th Infantry Division, fought in France and was disabled in gas warfare. He was a carpenter for Santa Fe Trailways until his retirement, a member of FOE (sic - Fraternal Order of Eagles), American Legion and International Association of Machinists.
Among those attending the funeral were Mrs. Cecil DOWNEY of Fairfield, Marguerite JOHNSTON of Oskaloosa, Mr. and Mrs. Dale SCHWARTZ of Des Moines and Mr. and Mrs. Waldo SCHWARTZ of Austin, Texas, nieces and nephews of SCHWARTZ.
