W. LOONEY

William R. LOONEY, 75, former Fairfield resident and former postal employee at Fairfield, died at 2:25 a.m. Wednesday at the Dakota Midland Hospital at Aberdeen, S.D.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Miller-Huebl Funeral Home in Aberdeen.

The casket will be shipped to Fairfield for burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Grave services will be at 10 a.m. Monday with the Rev. Clair Odell officiating.

Friends may call at the Behner Funeral Home Sunday at their convenience.

William R. LOONEY was born April 5, 1908, in Washington. He was the son of William and Olive WAGNER LOONEY. He was married to Hazel DROZ Oct. 18, 1930, at Fairfield.

LOONEY began his education in Libertyville and graduated from the Fairfield High School in 1926.

He began his career in postal work at the Fairfield Post Office and moved to Aberdeen in 1940. He retired from the postal service as an inspector after 39 years of service.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church; AF&AM Masonic Lodge in Fairfield; he was a member of the United Commercial Travelers and National Association of Retired Federal Employees.

In addition to his wife LOONEY is survived by a daughter, Marcia WOODHOUSE, Olathe, Kansas; two grandchildren and two sisters, Helen PETERSON, Davenport, and Edythe LAWSON, Fairfield

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son and one daughter, both in infancy.
