Death takes Mrs. MARTIN

BATAVIA - Joesphine (sic: Josephine) J. MARTIN, 55, died, Tuesday at 12:07 p.m. at Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield where she had been a patient the past week. She had been ill the past year-and-a-half.

The funeral will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. at Campbell Funeral Chapel in Batavia with the Rev. Kermit Black officiating. Burial will be in Brethren Cemetery. A memorial has been established.

Mrs. MARTIN was born July 15, 1923, in Jefferson County, Iowa, the daughter of Ora F. and Mabel HUTTON SHIPLER. She had lived in Jefferson County her all of her life.

She married Leo MARTIN on May 2, 1942 in Mexico, Mo. He survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Thomas MARTIN, Mount Pleasant and Anthony MARTIN, Batavia; one grandson; and one sister, Isabella GALLUP, Batavia.
