Catherine MANNING, 100, dies

LAFAYETTE, Calif. - Catherine "Kate" Manning, 100, of LaFayette, Calif., died Saturday, July 16, 1988.

She was born Feb. 19, 1888, in Jefferson County, the daughter of William and Caroline ROBERT SPOOTH.

She married True MANNING and they farmed in the Libertyville and Fairfield areas. They retired in 1951, moving to Hermosa Beach, Calif. She had lived with her son-in-law Vernon and daughter-in-law Evaughn the past two years. While there she was involved in sewing, alterations and baby-sitting.

Survivors include two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Milford; a daughter, Kathaleen MOSS; four brothers, William, Wayne, John and Charles and two sisters; Mary SCOVEL and Lucy GLASGOW.

A graveside funeral service was held this afternoon in Redondo Beach, Calif.
