Shirley R. BLUM

Shirley R. BLUM, 86, of Fairfield, died Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012, at Parkview Care Center.

No services are planned.

Ms. BLUM was born Aug. 28, 1926 in Oak Park, Ill., the daughter of George and Ruth HOHMER BLUM.

Ms. BLUM was a middle school science teacher in Illinois.

She wrote lifestyles news articles in the Chicago area and was an avid reader and book club member.

She was a world traveler, piano teacher and geologist.

Survivors include one niece; and one nephew.
