Saundra Joan BARTHOLOW BLOOMQUIST, 72, of Fairfield, died Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012, at the SunnyBrook Living Care Center.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Behner Funeral Home, with the Rev. Keevin Koch officiating. Burial will be in Wright Cemetery.
Visitation for family and friends will be held from 1-2 p.m. Saturday at Behner Funeral Home.

Ms. BLOOMQUIST was born Aug. 14, 1940 in Fairfield, the daughter of George Lavern and Margaret COURTNEY BARTHOLOW. She married Louie BLOOMQUIST June 1, 1958, at First Christian Church in Fairfield.
Ms. BLOOMQUIST started college at age 54 and was on the dean's list throughout her college years. She received her bachelor's degree from Buena Vista University and also received degrees from Southeastern and Indian Hills community colleges.
She was a paraprofessional at Fairfield Middle School.
She owned and operated two gift and gold stores: one in Wapello and one in the Muscatine Mall.
Survivors include four children, Terry BLOOMQUIST and spouse Ellen of Cedar Rapids, Rob BLOOMQUIST and spouse Corinne of Exline, Randy BLOOMQUIST and spouse Theresa of Linwood, Neb., and Tracy LOTT and spouse Darryl of Niota, Ill.; one sister, Karen BARTHOLOW of Denver, Colo.; nine grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Richard BARTHOLOW.
