Cecil Eugene FOSTER, 76, of Lockridge, died Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012, at home.
A funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel in Mount Pleasant with the Rev. Alfred Kruse officiating. Burial will be in New Sweden Lutheran Cemetery.
Visitation begins at noon Wednesday, at the Memorial Chapel. Family will greet friends 5-7 p.m. Wednesday.
A memorial has been established to the New Sweden Chapel Fund.

Mr. FOSTER was born March 21, 1936, in Dallas City, Ill., the son of Cecil Theodore and Idell MOUNT FOSTER. He married Phyllis Raye FARK July 4, 1954, in Burnside, Ill. She died Feb. 13, 2007.
He was a 1954 graduate of LaHarpe High School, LaHarpe, Ill.
He grew up on a farm and the love of the farm and the caring for livestock stayed with him his entire life. He moved to the farm near Lockridge in 1964.
He was a rural mail carrier for 27 years, retiring in 2001.
He enjoyed simple pleasures in life that he found through his work, farming and helping neighbors and friends.
He was a member of First Augustana Lutheran Church.
Survivors include four sons, Duane FOSTER and spouse Marcia of Des Moines, Dean FOSTER and spouse Debra of Lockridge, Dale FOSTER of Syracuse, Neb. and Darrin FOSTER and spouse Carey of Golden, Colo.; one brother, Lee FOSTER of Rochester, N.Y.; two sisters, Barbara MESSER of Mount Pleasant and Sharon CRANE of New Orleans; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter-in-law.
