KESSEL Funeral Will Be Monday

Mrs. John C. KESSEL, longtime resident of Jefferson county, died at 4:15 p.m. Thursday at the Nelson Nursing home. She had been in failing health for the past two years and seriously ill the past 10 days.

Last rites will be Monday at 9 a.m. at the St. Mary Catholic church with the Rev. Francis Henricksen officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery. The Rosary will be recited at the Raymond funeral home at 8 p.m. Sunday.

Anna M. KESSEL, 82, was born June 4, 1883, at East Pleasant Plain, the daughter of Mathias and Teckel STELMACK DRISH. She was reared and educated at East Pleasant Plain.

On April 29, 1903, she was married to John C. KESSEL at Polishville. Mrs. KESSEL had lived in Jefferson county all of her life and in the Fairfield community for the past 45 years.

She was a member of the St. Mary Catholic church and the Altar and Rosary Society. Her husband preceded her in death on Dec. 20, 1951. She was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, one sister and two brothers.

Survivors include four sons, Ralph, J.R., and Lawrence, all of Fairfield, and Harold of Cocoa, Fla.; nine grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren; one brother, Pius DRISH, Davenport, and two sisters, Mrs. Leo POHREN, Fairfield, and Mrs. Peter POHREN, Fairfield.
