The Fairfield Ledger, Nov. 4, 1908, p.7, col.4. Mrs. Mary A. McDonald, aged 82 and a resident of Jefferson county for more than half a century, passed away in this city on Oct. 27. Born Jan.4, 1826 in Rockbridge county VA. Coming to Jefferson county, she was married to Daniel McDonald on Nov. 2, 1848 in Fairfield, residing continuously in the county since that time. Mrs. McDonald was preceded in death by her husband, who died a little more than five years ago. Six children, three still living: Flora McDonald of this city, Mrs. Jennie Gaudfrey, Tauton MA and Calvin McDonald residing in MO. Mrs. McDonald is also survived by three brothers, S.A., J.E. and William Cummings and two sisters, Lucinda Cummings of this city and Mrs. Rachel Dare of Osceola.
