The Fairfield Ledger, Dec. 30, 1903, p.7, col.3. JEFFERSON COUNTY ONCE HER HOME. Mrs. Joseph Campbell died at North English the 21st after an illness for many months from paralysis. She was a sister of John A. Ireland of this city and was a resident of this county from 1848 to about 1872. Her mainden name was Sarah Elizabeth Ireland and she was born in Guernsey County OH Aug. 23, 1829. Jan. 10, 1850 she was married to John Adams in Batavia and they resided in Locust Grove township for many years, until their removal to NE where the husband died (at Pawnee City) Apr. 23, 1881. Of six children born to them, three are now living, John A. and James A. in KS and Elmer H. in NE. Oct. 29,1887 Mrs. Adams was married to Joseph Campbell, who survives her. M.E. Church.
