Fairfield Daily Journal, Aug. 13, 1907, p.2, col.2. DEATH OF A PIONEER. Cuthbert Webb, born in Rush county, IN May 16, 1820, died at the home of his son Robert in Abingdon, Aug. 7, 1907, aged 87 years, 2 months, 21 days. Married Nancy Plough in 1840. Four children: Mrs. A.T. Downey of Abingdon and Isham lately deceased, two died in infancy. He emigrated to Van Buren county IA in 1842 and in about two years removed to Jefferson county where he resided until his death. After the death of his first wife he was again married to Nancy Smales and to this union were born five children: John and George, deceased, Robert of Abingdon, Mary of near St. Louis, Henry of Putnam county MO.
