Walter H. JOHNSTON, 64, Fairfield, died today at the Veterans Hospital in Iowa City. His address was 805 W. Harrison.
The casket is at the Raymond Funeral Home. Services have been tentatively set for Tuesday afternoon. The Rev. John Wilken will officiate and burial will be in Fell Cemetery near Libertyville.
Members of the family will be at the funeral home Monday evening from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. to receive friends.
Walter H. JOHNSTON was born Sept. 28, 1912, at Stockport. He was the son of Fred and Effie CARMICHAEL JOHNSTON and was reared and educated at Libertyville.
He attended Iowa State Teachers College at Cedar Falls, served with the U.S. Navy and was a member of the United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two brothers, Howard, Naples, Fla., and Frank, Wilmington, N.C.; and four sisters, Mrs. Elinor FORDYCE, and Mrs. Rex SWAN, both of Libertyville; Mrs. Myron CARLSON, Mount Union, and Mrs. Tom CORLETT, Davenport.
