Local Rites For PARRETT

E. Roy PARRETT, 88, a former Batavia, resident, died Saturday in Ocala, Fla., where he had made his home 20 years. He suffered a heart attack on Friday.

Services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Raymond Funeral Home with the Rev. John Wheatley officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. The family receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

PARRETT was born Dec. 15, 1887 near Batavia, the son of Edward M. Laura CAMPBELL PARRETT. He was educated in the Batavia community and attended Iowa State University.

PARRETT was married Sept. 6, 1911 to Rachel THRONSON. She preceded him in death July 19, 1848. Surviving are four children: Mrs. Esther WHITAKER, Fairfield; Mrs. Marie BUTTERY, Ollie; Edward PARRETT, Ocala, Fla.; and David PARRETT, Oxford, Fla.

Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and two sisters: Mrs. Amy McNIEL, Des Moines; and Mrs. Mabel McNIEL, Ottumwa.

Parrett was member of the Cross Lanes Presbyterian Church. One brother is deceased.
