Florence V. RILEY, 97, 301 E. Madison Ave., died at 11:20 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, 2003, at Parkview Care Center.
The funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Behner Funeral Home, with the Rev. Danny Cary officiating. Burial will be in Abingdon Cemetery in Abingdon.
Family visitation will be held from 6:30-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Lord's Cupboard.
Mrs. RILEY was born Dec. 7, 1905, in Abingdon, the daughter of Daniel and Belle DAVIS SCHOOLEY. She married Gerald RILEY March 16, 1927, in Fairfield. He died March 15, 1988.
Mrs. RILEY lived most of her life in the Fairfield and Jefferson County areas. She was a homemaker and a seamstress. Her pastimes included cooking, crocheting, gardening, writing poetry, genealogy and, when she was younger, public speaking in the Abingdon community.
She was a member of the Abingdon Christian Church and past president of the Keep Young Club from 1978-1979.
Survivors include two sons, Dwight W. RILEY and wife Dorothy of Centerville and Dean RILEY and Darlene of Fairfield; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband she was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Verlyn Cloyce RILEY and Rex RILEY; three sisters, Olga GARDNER, Lori IRELAND and Dell SCHOOLEY; and one great-grandson.
