The Fairfield Ledger, Aug. 21, 1901, Page 3, col. 3. A JEFFERSON COUNTY GIRL. The Burlington Hawkeye announces the death of Mrs. John Mason in that city. Her girlhood days were spent in Fairfield and Jefferson county. Mrs. Mason was a daughter of Robert Brown, a man who was closely connected with our early history. She was born in PA 70 years ago and at the age of eight came to this county with her parents. She was married here in 1855 and removed to Burlington a few years later.
