Judith Ann 'Judy' BODKINS

Judith Ann "Judy" BODKINS, 67, of Washington, Iowa, died Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2012 at the All-American Care Center of Washington after a lengthy illness.

A celebration of life service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home in Washington with the Rev. Sallie Graves officiating. Private family interment will take place at a later date.

Visitation begins at 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m.

A memorial has been established to the Alzheimer's Association.

Mrs. BODKINS was born Oct. 6, 1944 in Washington, Iowa the daughter of Charles Wesley and Dora Evelyn DUNBAR WALKER. She married James Junior BODKINS Jan. 18, 1962 in Washington. He died in 2007.

She graduated from Washington High School, then worked at A&W in Washington. She was employed as a data key entry operator at Coors Distribution in Golden, Colo., and Perfex in Washington. She worked at the University of Iowa where she retired after 20 years.

She enjoyed roller skating and spending time with her family and her grandchildren.

Survivors include two sons, Wesley George BODKINS of Denver, Colo., and Matthew James BODKINS of Washington; two daughters Leslie Joanne ALEXANDER and husband Mike of Florence, Colo., and Barbara Jane BODKINS of Delta; 13 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and a great-granddaughter.
