BODKINS, James Junior -- James Junior BODKINS, 63, of Sigourney, died Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2007, at Keokuk County Medical Center in Sigourney.

A funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Jones-Eden Funeral Home in Washington, with the Rev. Darryl Carr officiating.

Visitation will begin at noon Sunday at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 3-5 p.m.

A memorial has been established to the Alzheimer's Association.

Mr. BODKINS was born Oct. 18, 1943, in Lancaster, Mo., the son of Hobert George and Helen Evelyn BLODGETT BODKINS. He married Judith Ann WALKER Jan. 18, 1962.

Mr. BODKINS lived the majority of his life in Washington County, Iowa, and in Colorado.

Mr. BODKINS was born Oct. 18, 1943, in Lancaster, Mo., the son of Hobert George and Helen Evelyn BLODGETT BODKINS. He married Judith Ann WALKER Jan. 18, 1962.

Mr. BODKINS attended elementary school in Kinross and completed his high school general education development credential diploma through Kirkwood Community College. He lived the majority of his life in Washington County, Iowa, and in Colorado. He worked many different jobs and most recently was a clerk at Goodwill in Iowa City. He had been failing in health for the past several years.

He enjoyed camping, fishing, helping friends on their farms and being with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Judith BODKINS of Washington; two sons, Wesley BODKINS of Denver, Colo., and Matthew James BODKINS and wife Julie of Washington; two daughters, Leslie Joanne ALEXANDER and husband Mike of Florence, Colo., and Barbara Jane BLUM and husband Dennis of Delta; 15 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; his father of Ottumwa; three sisters, Leona Maxine ARNOLD of Ottumwa, Wanda Sue PERKINS of Wapello and Nancy Jo LANKFORD of Richland; and two brothers, Kenneth Dale BODKINS of Sigourney and William George BODKINS of Wellington, Colo.

He was preceded in death by his mother and one brother, Robert Lowell BODKINS.
