Mildred MANNING

Mildred MANNING, 91, formerly of Fairfield, died Sept. 19, 2012 at Pleasant Manor Care Center in Mt. Pleasant. She was born Aug. 1, 1921 in Trenton to Walter and Alice LYONS. She married Lester MANNING March 25, 1939 in Trenton.

She worked at the Fairfield Glove Company and was a beauty instructor at the Parkview Beauty College. She was also a member of the National Hairdressers Association.

She was preceded in death by her husband Lester on May 10, 1996, also two brothers Walter LYONS and Stanley LYONS and three sisters Margaret EDWARDS, Dorothy GRIEST and Betty LATHROP.

Survivors include her daughter, Patty CORNELL of Bella Vista, Arkansas, four grandsons Tony (Cathy) CORNELL, Todd (Lisa) CORNELL, Tracy (Heather) CORNELL and Tyler (Shawn) CORNELL; ten great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a brother-in-law, Raymond GRIEST.

A graveside service was held on Sept 22, 2012 at Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Fairfield.

Shrine of Memories Funeral Home of Ottumwa was in charge of arrangements.
