“Richard W. Shelley was born in Jefferson County, Iowa, July 25, 1843, and died at Cornelius, Oregon, Apr. 15 1919 aged 75-8-15. Married Millie Lemon Jan 31 1865. Three children: Mrs. Sarah Gregory of Minneapolis, Minn., and Mrs. Tilman Hinshaw of Woolson, Iowa, and Ellen Pearl, who died in infancy. His first wife died in 1877 and he married Glaphrey Hinshaw Aug 24 1879; one child, Mrs. Ernest Taylor of Boise, Idaho. Henry Blunk of Packwood is a foster son whom he raised from the age of three years. Richland Clarion”
