“Fred W. Shearer died Wed. at Olivia, Minn. Burial in Evergreen Sat. Apr 5 just five days after funeral services for his wife. Born Apr 20 1884 in Jefferson County, son of Frederick & Mary L. (Whitham) Shearer; married Ida Baker Oct 25 1905…..Retired railroad engineer and had lived at Olivia for the past several years. Survivors: Two sons, Willard, Olivia, Minn.; and Edwin, El Paso, Texas; six grandchildren, seven greatgrandchildren…..Preceded in death by a son.”
