“Mrs. John Soeten, 61, a resident of the Packwood area for 23 years, died Sat. 11:15 a.m. at the Ottumwa Hospital…..Burial will be in McDowell Cemetery west of Pleasant Plain. Weston Behner Funeral Home. The former Mary Louise Hoskins was born Feb 21 1905 near Pleasant Plain, daughter of Olney and Mary Balderson Hoskins; married Jan. 1 1930. The family home is north of Packwood. Surviving are husband and three daughters: Mrs. Raymond Yule, Buckeye, Ariz.; Mrs. Donald Langebartels, Indianapolis, Ind., and Martha, at home; 6 grandchildren and brothers and sisters: James Hoskins, Galen Hoskins, Mrs. Ada Snider and Mrs George Woodford, all of Richland. Two brothers preceded her in death.”
