Dorothy M. TISDALE

Dorothy M. TISDALE, 87, of Keosauqua, formerly of Milton, died at 6:35 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012, at Good Samaritan Society-Van Buren Hospice in Keosauqua.

A funeral is at 11 a.m. Monday at Grace United Methodist Church in Milton with the Rev. Douglas Harding officiating. Burial wil be in Sunnyside Cemetery in Milton.

Visitation begins at 3 p.m. Sunday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua with family present 4-6 p.m.

Memorials to Grace United Methodist Church or Van Buren County Hospital Auxiliary may be left at the funeral home or church or mailed to the family at P.O. Box 446, Keosauqua 52565.

Mrs. TISDALE was born March 16, 1925, in rural Birmingham, the daughter of Robert and Helen RANDELL UMPHREY. She married Fred S. TISDALE March 16, 1945 in Birmingham. He died Sept. 24, 2003.

She graduated from Birmingham High School and was a farm homemaker.

She was active in community affairs, including 4-H and the Republican party.

She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and a charter member of its United Methodist Women.

Survivors include two daughters, Donna HARRISON and spouse Gary of Sun Prairie, Wis., and Darla RAHE and spouse Dennis of Carlinsville, Ill.; one son, Kurt TISDALE and spouse Amy of Morton, Ill.; seven grandchildren; one great-grandson; and two sisters, Ruth DODDS of Fairfield and Janet HAGANMAN of Stockport.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Doran TISDALE.
