E. McINTIRE rites

Elsie I. McINTIRE, 79, of Logan Apartments, died at 9:55 p.m. Saturday at Jefferson County Hospital.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Free Methodist Church with the Rev. Charles Kaufmann officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 8 p.m. at Raymond Funeral Home. Memorials have been established to the Senior Citizens Center and to Free Methodist Church.

The daughter of Albert and Anna JOHNSON OLSON, Mrs. McINTIRE was born Feb. 8, 1907 in Fairfield, where she lived her entire life. She married Harold F. McINTIRE Jan. 16, 1927 at the Free Methodist parsonage in Fairfield. He died July 29, 1977. A member of Free Methodist Church, Mrs. McINTIRE was honored by the church in 1983 as Mother of the Year.

Surviving are three sons, Harold Jr. of Des Moines, Dale of Tampa, Fla., Steven of Des Moines; six daughters, Arlene HAIFLEY, Marilyn (Mrs. Don) KANE, both of Fairfield, Carol MYERS of Marion, Mary Helen VORWERK of Burlington, Janet DICKEY of Packwood, Pam CUBBAGE of Batavia; 28 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and one sister, Gladys CROWE of Leon.
