Rites for Lydia STEELE

Lydia STEELE, 80, Route 1, Fairfield, died Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at Jefferson County Hospital. She had been hospitalized the past 12 days.

The service will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Donald Hickman officiating. Burial will be in Glasgow Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 7:30 to 8:30 at the funeral home.

A lifetime resident of the Glasgow community, Mrs. Steele, the daughter of Herman and Susanna FUHR ZIEGLER, was born Sept. 22, 1898 in Jefferson County. She married Rex STEELE on Feb. 3, 1923 in Fairfield. He preceded her in death on March 9, 1973.

She is survived by five children: Mrs. Jack LUZADDER, Fairfield, Mrs. Raymond LYON, Birmingham, Robert STEELE, Stockport and Dale STEELE and Jim METCALF, both of Fairfield.

She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; one sister, Barbara ZIEGLER, Stockport and one brother, John ZIEGLER, Fairfield.

She was preceded in death by one son and one brother.
