Larry Keith HYDE Sr., 71, of New London and formerly of Danville, died Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012, at home.
A private family graveside service will be Wednesday in Long Creek Cemetery (sic - in Des Moines Co., IA) with the Rev. Dan Buck officiating.
Visitation begins at noon Tuesday at Elliott Chapel in New London. The family will be present from 6-8 p.m.
A memorial has been established.
Mr. HYDE was born Oct. 18, 1940, in Memphis, Mo., the son of Virgil Morton and Helen Myrtle SKYLES HYDE. He married Kathryn Faye DALTON June 12, 1960, in Brock, Mo.
He was a lifelong farmer. After retirement, he worked with heavy equipment, bulldozing and excavating.
He was a member of Brock Methodist Church in Missouri.
He enjoyed woodworking and caning chairs, going to the casino and being outdoors. He especially enjoyed his grandchildren and their sporting events.
Survivors include his wife of New London; two sons, L. Keith HYDE Jr. and spouse Janice of Fairfield and Terry HYDE of Mount Union; one daughter, Diane RICE and spouse Kendal of Danville; five grandchildren; one great-grandson; and one brother, Maurice HYDE of Eldora.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Howard and Gerald in infancy.
