Omar K. CATHEY Jr.

Omar K. CATHEY Jr., 69, of Bellevue, Neb., died Aug. 4, 2000, at an Omaha, Neb., hospital.

The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Bethany Funeral Home Chapel at LaVista, Neb., with the Rev. Ron Hawkins officiating. Eastern Star and Masonic memorial services will be held under the direction of Paula Heyden, worthy matron, and John Sheffield, worshipful master. Burial will be at Bellevue Cemetery. The family requests memorials to the American Cancer Society.

Mr. CATHEY was born in Fairfield on March 22, 1931. He graduated from Fairfield High School in 1949, and retired from the U.S. Air Force with the rank of master sergeant.

He was a member of Bellevue Masonic Lodge No. 325, Omaha Valley Scottish Rite, Tangier Shrine, Shrine "Road Runner" and Order of the Eastern Star Alpha Chapter No. 325.

He is survived by his wife, Alice, of Bellevue; three daughters, Patricia A.S. NEUMANN of Lincoln, Neb., Jackie Y. GRUBER of Pine, Colo., and Kathryn R. WHEATLEY of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a son, Albert Lozano of San Antonio, Texas; two brothers, Frank of Fairfield and Robert of Bonduel, Wis.; two sisters, Rosamonde ALLMAN of Tampa, Fla., and Beverly HICKENBOTTOM of Packwood; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
