HELFENSTINE Rites Set

Mrs. Meryle HELFENSTINE, 83, died Wednesday at 11:40 p.m. at Ottumwa Hospital. She had been seriously ill the past five days.

Mrs. HELFENSTINE was born Feb. 11, 1894 at Ottumwa, the daughter of Wilson and Laura POTTS SHIPLER. On Feb. 24, 1915 she married Frank (Nick) HELFENSTINE. He died June 3, 1974.

Mrs. Helfenstine had lived in Fairfield 63 years. Her home was at 801 W. Briggs.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Vivian RENSHAW of Bloomfield; one sister, Mary WORKMAN, Fairfield; one brother, Homer SHIPLER, Bloomfield. She was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.

Services will be Saturday, 10 a.m., at Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne L. Bartruff officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
