Harold E. WATTS, 74, former Fairfield resident, died suddenly at 12:30 a.m. at his home in Rantoul, Ill.
Funeral services and burial were held today in Rantoul.
WATTS was a printer for 44 years. He began his career at the Fairfield Ledger in 1924 and he was associated with this newspaper for 23 years, including many years as pressman.
From 1947 to 1959, Watts was a member of the composing room staff of the Mount Pleasant News. After moving to Rantoul, he worked for the Rantoul Press and later the Cissna Park News before retiring in 1969.
WATTS was born May 17, 1902 at Onawa, the son of Maurice and Jane BURRIS WATTS. He was married to Grace SNOOK, who preceded him in death in 1954 (sic - 1955). In 1959, he was married to Dorothy SKELTON, who survives.
Also surviving are one son, H. Leland WATTS, Belleville, Ill.; one grandson and the following sisters and brother: Gladys COFFIN, Donnellson; Charles WATTS, Libertyville; Raymond WATTS, Packwood. One daughter, one grandson, one sister and three brothers are deceased.
WATTS was a member of the United Methodist Church and the Lions Club.

Admin. note: First wife Grace died May 7, 1955, and is buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Fairfield, IA, in Lot 1st.053. This is a joint stone with Harold that has both his birth and death dates, but his obituary states he's buried elsewhere.
