Velma Mae PUDER

Velma Mae PUDER, 89, of Fairfield, died at 9:05 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 31, 2002, at Nelson Nursing Home in Fairfield.

Graveside services were held at 10:30 a.m. today at Mount Zion Cemetery north of Martinsburg (sic - Keokuk County, IA) with the Rev. Danny Cary officiating.

Memorials may be made to the Nelson Nursing Home activity fund or to the charity of the donor's choice.

Mrs. PUDER was born July 22, 1913, in Competine township, the daughter of William and Millie LONGERBONE RILEY.

She married Glen Otto PUDER Dec. 11, 1933, in Bloomfield. He died in 1956.

She had lived in the Fairfield area since 1956. She helped her husband on the farm. she was employed as a production worker at Universal Producing Co., Parsons College, and American Chain and Cable Co.

Survivors include two sons, Jerry Lee PUDER and his wife Alice of Harper, Kan., and Neil PUDER and his wife Rita of Fairfield; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Arthur, Adrian, Gerald, Ike, and Oramel RILEY; and two sisters, Ora RILEY and Vera SMITH.
