William "Bill" Milton WILLIS, 70, of Ottumwa died at 5:55 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 9, 2000, at Ottumwa Regional Health Center.
The funeral was held at 11 a.m. today at Reece Funeral Home in Ottuwma (sic: Ottumwa), with the Rev. Jim Stern officiating. Burial was at 3 p.m. at Burge Cemetery near New London.
Visitation was Sunday at the funeral home. A memorial has been established to Northgate Alliance Church Church or to the donor's choice.
Mr. Willis was born March 13, 1930, in Mount Pleasant, the son of Joseph Paul and Ida FLETCHER DeSPAIN WILLIS. He married Helen M. LINGENFELTER May 19, 1957, in Lockridge.
A graduate of New London High School in 1949, he was president of his class. He graduated from Technical Institute in Kansas City and worked at KTVO, KBIZ, Colormaster and Lee's Photography.
He was interested in genealogy and photography.
He was a member of Northgate Alliance Church, a lifetime member of the Moose Lodge in Mount Pleasant, member of Sons of the American Revolution and the Ottumwa Camera Club.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Joseph H. WILLIS of Ottumwa; one daughter, Lucinda K. WILLIS of Ottumwa; and one sister, LeAnna THORNBURG of Oakville.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Dean WILLIS.
