Hinton Graves 'Bud' CLABAUGH

Hinton Graves "Bud" CLABAUGH, 88, of 904 E. Madison Ave., died at 1:16 p.m. Monday, Nov. 13, 2000, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

A private funeral will be held. Behners Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. CLABAUGH was born Dec. 32, 1911, in Chicago, Ill., the son of Hinton Graves and Mary Louise CLABAUGH. He married Martha RUCKER Oct. 10, 1951, in Nashville, Tenn.

Mr. CLABAUGH grew up in Chicago and graduated from New Trier High School. He attended Dartmouth College and University of Alabama. He graduated from Wabash College in Indiana.

He served as an intelligence officer in the United States Navy during World War II.

Before moving to Fairfield in 1990, he worked for the Federal Bureau of Investigation photography laboratory in Washington, D.C., for 30 years.

Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Jane CLABAUGH FLESHMAN and David; one son, Hinton Graves CLABAUGH III; two grandchildren and one brother, George Francis CLABAUGH.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Louise EMRICH.
