Edna Faye SIMMONS

Edna Faye SIMMONS, 94, 704 S. Seventh St., died at 8:10 p.m. Thursday, May 7, 1998, at Jefferson County Hospital.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Raymond Funeral Home with the Rev. David Kennedy officiating. Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery. Memorials have been established to Antioch Cemetery or Antioch Church. The family will receive friends 7-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Mrs. SIMMONS was born Oct. 20, 1903, in Washington County near Pleasant Plain, the daughter of Luther and Minnie COFFIN ELMORE. She grew up in the Pleasant Plain community and attended Pleasant Plain schools.

She married Fred R. SIMMONS Dec. 6, 1922, at Bloomfield. She lived most of her life in the Antioch community. She retired to Fairfield in 1963.

Survivors include two sons, J. Richard and Stanley, both of Fairfield; one daughter, Faye BEAUCHAMP, of Fairfield; 11 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her husband Sept. 13, 1968; her parents; a twin sister, Edith; another sister, Ada WATSON; two brothers, Elbert and Jere ELMORE; and one grandson.
