Mrs. BRIGGS Rites Set

Services for Mrs. Helena M. BRIGGS, 94, will be held Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at the Weston Behner Funeral Home. The Rev. J.E. Dorman will officiate and burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.

Mrs. BRIGGS, the last of a family of nine children, died at 8:35 a.m. Friday at the Park View Care Center. She had been in failing health for several years.

Members of the family will be at the funeral home from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. tonight, Monday.

Helena M. BRIGGS was born March 17, 1882, in Logan County, Ill., the daughter of August and Johanna SEEFELDT WILL.

She was married Feb. 5, 1907, to Jesse C. BRIGGS at Lincoln, Ill. He preceded his wife in death Oct. 14, 1951.

Mrs. Briggs had made her home in the Fairfield Community for over 60 years. He (sic: She) was a member of the German Lutheran Church at Ada, Minn.

Survivors include three sons and four daughters: William B., Fairfield; Curtis H., Fairfield; and Jesse W., Denver, Colo.; Mrs. Cleo MYERS, Fairfield; Mrs. Leona BURKELL, Portland, Oregon; Mrs. Mary JONES, Carmel, Ill.; and Mrs. Norma SCHOCKLEY, Grand March (sic - Grand Marsh), Wisc.

Others surviving include 17 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. BRIGGS was preceded in death by one son, three brothers and five sisters.
