Gary Lee KREISS

Gary Lee KREISS, 77, died Thursday, Aug. 30, 2012, at Parkview Care Center in Fairfield.

A memorial service is at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Behner Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jason Mott officiating. Private burial will be held at a later date in Green Glade Cemetery in Farmington. According to his wishes, his body has been cremated.

Memorials may be made to the family. Cards and memorials may be sent to Vivian KREISS, 2262 Highway 34, Fairfield 52556.

Mr. KREISS was born Jan. 25, 1935, the son of Joe and Edith Ann WINN KREISS in Van Buren County. He married Vivian WESTERCAMP March 14, 1954, in Farmington.

He began a life-long profession in the grocery business before graduating from Keosauqua High School in 1952.

He owned and operated a grocery store in Stockport. The family lived in Fort Madison and moved to Fairfield 48 years ago.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

He shared his passions, hunting and fishing, with his children and grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife; six children, Paul of Germantown, Md., Brad and spouse Diane of Ainsworth, Dale and spouse Cheryl of Tama, Troy and spouse Ann of Edgington, Ill., Lori and spouse Eric of Lone Tree, and Kent and spouse Kerry of Burlington; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Lana BOUGHNER, Linda BRILL and JoAnn WILEY.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Arlo.
