Stanley "Stan" W. Marshall, 73, of Ottumwa died Sunday, Nov. 23, 2003, at the VA Medical Center in Knoxville.

The funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa, with the Rev. Joseph Shimko officiating. Burial will be in Ottumwa Cemetery.

Military rites will be conducted by Walter B. Schafer Post No. 775 Veterans of Foreign Wars and O.B. Nelson Post No. 3 American Legion.

Visitation began at 10 a.m. today at the funeral home, where the family present from 7-8:30 tonight.

Mr. Marshall was born Dec. 3, 1929, in rural Stockport, the son of Ernest and Eva Barnett Marshall. He married Madeline Carter Nov. 22, 1962, in Ottumwa.

Mr. Marshall was a resident of Ottumwa most of his life. He served in the Army during the Korean conflict. He worked for 17 years for DRS Transport in Oskaloosa.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Neil Marshall of Appleton, Wis.; one daughter, Nancy Peters of Fremont; one grandson; two sisters, Darlene Pratt of Keosauqua and Donna Wheeler of Bella Vista, Ark.; and one brother, Deane Marshall of Packwood.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Marjorie Marshall.
