Erma A. Rogers, 72, of rural Bonaparte died at 7:40 p.m. Monday, Nov. 24, 2003, at Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua.

Cremation will follow a private family viewing. No service or visitation is planned at this time. Cremains will be buried in Eastland Cemetery in Redfield at a later date.

Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosaquau is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Rogers was born Sept. 3, 1931, in Redfield, the daughter of Nicholas E. and Minnie Gowin Wacht. She married Norman Rogers Sept. 6, 1949, in Winterset.

She graduated from Redfield High School and was an accountant for the state of Iowa in Des Moines and later for several businesses. She and her husband moved to Van Buren County in 1988.

She was a member of Farmington United Methodist Church, Farmington Garden Club and had been active in the Villages of Van Buren organization.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Dennis Rogers of Monona and Michael Rogers of Chariton; one daughter, Teresa McCoy of Conway, S.C.; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Loren and Wayne Wacht; and one sister, Opal Wacht.
