Carol J. Myers, 70, of Marion, died Sunday, Nov. 23, 2003, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, following a battle with cancer.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories in Cedar Rapids, with Rev. Ed Powers officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery in Cedar Rapids.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids and after 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to Asbury United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Myers was born June 19, 1933, in Fairfield, the daughter of Harold and Elsie Irene Olson. She married Jack E. Myers June 20, 1950, in Fairfield. He died Oct. 9, 2001.

Mrs. Myers worked at Square D as a machinist for 25 years and retired in 1992.

She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, the Twirling Travelers, and the Good Sam Club. Her pastimes included dancing, camping and spending time with her family.

Survivors include three sons, Larry Myers and wife Jo of Cedar Rapids, Gary Myers and wife Jan of Ely, and Ronald Myers and wife Nancy of Cedar Rapids; one daughter, Teresa Reedich and husband Michael of Cedar Rapids; two brothers, Dale McIntire of Florida and Steve McIntire of Des Moines; four sisters, Arlene Haifley of Fairfield, Pam Cubbage of Libertyville, Marilyn Kane of Fairfield, and Mary Helen Vorwerk of Burlington; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and three stepgrandchildren.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Harold Olson Jr.; one sister, Janet Dickey; and one grandchild.
