Mrs. SHIPLEY, 53, Taken In Death

Mrs. Charles SHIPLEY, 53, 908 S. Depot, died suddenly Sunday at 5 p.m. at the Jefferson County Hospital. She had been in failing health for the past year.

Services will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Weston Behner Funeral Home in charge of the Rev. Ned Gillum. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery near Douds.

Mrs. Shipley was the former Marguerite RHOADES. She was born Dec. 8, 1912 in Ottumwa, the daughter of George and Mary BROCKERT RHOADES. She was married to Charles SHIPLEY Jan. 2, 1960.

Mrs. Shipley had been a resident of Fairfield for seven years. She previously lived at Birmingham for 19 years. For the past five years she had been employed at the Nelson Nursing Home. She was a member of the Keosauqua Christian Church.

Surviving are her husband and three children: Mrs. Mary CHEW, Ottumwa; Mrs. Irma HAMEN, Newton; and Harold WRIGHT, Dallas Center. Also surviving are her mother, Mrs. Myrtle RHOADES, Ottumwa; eight grandchildren; two brothers, Edward RHOADES, Ottumwa, and Louis RHOADES, Floris, and one sister, Mrs. Sarah Cole, Ottumwa.

Her father, one brother, four sisters and three grandchildren preceded her in death.
