Lucille Watson, 87, of Mount Pleasant and formerly of Richland died at 11:15 a.m. Friday, Nov. 21, 2003, at Pleasant Manor Care Center in Mount Pleasant.

The funeral was held at 10:30 a.m. today at Gould Funeral Home in Richland, with the Rev. Peggy Egbert officiating. Burial was in Richland Friends Cemetery.

A memorial to Pleasant Manor Center has been established.

Mrs. Watson was born Dec. 1, 1915, in Rubio, the daughter of Allie and Vera Augustine Bond. She married Lawrence Glen Watson Dec. 25, 1933. He died Nov. 13, 1986.

Mrs. Watson was raised in Rubio and attended Richland High School.

She was a homemaker, cooked for Hedrick community schools for about 10 years and worked at Maplecrest Turkey Plant in Wellman.

Survivors include one daughter, Sheila Chapman and husband Ron of Sioux City; five sons, James Watson and wife Eileen of Mount Pleasant; Gary Watson and wife Sharon of Huntsville, Ark.; Larry Watson and wife Shirley of Keota; Kenneth Watson and wife Bonnie of Bella Vista, Ark., and Bob Watson and wife Patsy of Fort Madison; 20 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Milford Bond of Ashland, Ky.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one sister, Marjorie Watson; and one brother, Lawrence Bond.
