Helen L. LOUDEN

Helen L. LOUDEN, 81, formerly of 52 N. Park, died Sunday, April 5, 1998, in Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Ill.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home in Quincy, with the Rev. Rodney Bakker officiating. Graveside service will be held at 3:30 p.m. in Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday and until service time Wednesday. Memorials may be given to the Fairfield Library Fund.

Mrs. LOUDEN was born April 5, 1917, in Clayton, Ill., the daughter of Harvey Elmer and Lula Queen HOWELL KESTERSON. She married John Paul LOUDEN, Dec. 24, 1941, in Fairfield. He died Jan. 9, 1969.

Mrs. Louden graduated from Bowen High School and Gem City Business College. Before marrying, she was a secretary for Louden Machinery Company in Fairfield. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church, a lifetime member of the Elks Auxiliary, Order of the Eastern Star, the Walton Country Club, all of Fairfield. She was an active volunteer in Fairfield and a Girl Scout Leader. She was an avid bridge player.

Survivors include three sisters, Eva Marie WHITE and Winnifred BRITTON, both of Quincy, and Vera STEELE of Galesburg, Ill.; one brother, Howard KESTERSON of Quincy; and 12 nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her husband and a niece.
