ALICE RICHARDSON NORRIS
Alice RICHARDSON NORRIS (sic. full name Alice Jean RICHARDSON NORRIS) passed away at her home in Holdrege, Nebraska, April 1, 1942, after an illness of several weeks. She was the wife of the late W. P. NORRIS (sic. Wilmot P. NORRIS, 1858-1926), who was a pioneer druggist in this community.
Alice RICHARDSON was born in Fairfield, Iowa, January 7, 1863, one of the eleven (sic. actually thirteen) children of George and Agnes RICHARDSON, who were pioneers of Jefferson county. Her parents were both born in Glasgow, Scotland, but came to America in early childhood.
Mrs. NORRIS spent her girlhood in Fairfield and came to Holdrege in 1887 where she met and married W. P. NORRIS. To this union was born one son, Claude Richardson NORRIS, who in later years became his father's partner and who is now carrying on the drug business, which his father moved to Holdrege from Phelps Center in 1883.
In Fairfield, Mrs. NORRIS was a member of the I. C. Society and for the past forty years has been a member of the PEO Sisterhood, Chapter H, Holdrege, Nebraska.
Mrs. NORRIS is survived by her son; two grandchildren Margaret Jean and William Paul NORRIS; and three sisters, Ella R. CRAIL of Fairfield, Iowa; Anna B. ALSTON and Ada Mae WICKENS of Los Angeles, California.
