Robert F. MACON, 60, 1005 Hillcrest Drive, died at 8:30 p.m. Saturday at the Jefferson County Hospital. He had been ill for the past four months.
Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the First Presbyterian Church. The body will be cremated and interment will be at a later date. The services are in charge of the Behner Funeral Home.
Robert F. MACON was born June 2, 1922, in Washington. He was the son of John L. and Cecile E.FORD MACON. His marriage to Carol M. RODMAN took place Feb. 7, 1945, at Lincoln, Nebr.
MACON was a retired sales representative for Amoco Oil Co. for 21 years. He had worked two years as groundskeeper at Walton Club, he was a veteran of the Army Air Force during World War I; a member of the First United Presbyterian Church and the Fairfield Lions Club.
In addition to his widow, MACON is survived by his parents, John and Cecile MACON, Albuquerque, N.M.; two sons, John MACON, Muscatine, and Capt. James MACON, Plattsmouth, Nebr.; and a daughter, Constance Jean SILBERHORN, Iowa City.
Other survivors include six grandchildren, three step-grandchildren; two sisters, Marilyn PHILIPS, Dubuque, and Delores SHERROD, Corrales, N.M.
