Nicole McCaughn, 13, of Brighton, died Thursday night, Nov. 13, 2003, on Pleasant Plain Road, as the result of a one-vehicle accident.

The body has been cremated. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Brighton United Church in Brighton, with the Rev. Kitch Shatzer officiating. Burial will be at a later date.

Family visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. and from 6-8 p.m. today at Brighton United Church.

A memorial has been established to the family and may be left at the church or mailed to the family in care of Gould Funeral Home, PO Box 149, Brighton 52540.

Nicole was born Feb. 16, 1990, in Richmond, Texas, the daughter of Michael L. McCaughn and Tina M. Streitmatter.

She was raised in Joliet, Ill., and attended A.O. Marshall Elementary School in Joliet. She moved to Brighton in March 2002 and was in eighth grade at Washington Junior High School in Washington, Iowa.

She was a member of First Church of God youth group in Brighton.

Survivors include her father, Michael McCaughn; her mother and stepfather, Tina Streitmatter and Robert Lococo of Brighton; and grandparents, Donna Streitmatter and Tom and Sandy McCaughn, all of Joliet.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Jason and Timothy Wallace; and one grandfather, Michael Streitmatter.
