Lillie Evelyn LETTS MULBERRY

Lillie Evelyn LETTS MULBERRY, 70, died Friday, July 13, 2012, at her home in Indian Trail, N.C.

A funeral will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Faith United Methodist Church in Indian Trail. Family will receive friends after the ceremony in the White building located at the church.

Flowers may be sent to the church. Memorials may be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation in Honor of Lillie MULBERRY.

Mrs. MULBERRY was born Oct. 18, 1941, in Washington County, Iowa, the daughter of Roger and Cella COIL LETTS.

She attended Richland High School in Richland, graduating in 1959. She later attended Clarke University, earning a bachelor's degree.

She worked at various jobs throughout her life. When her children were young, she was a teacher's assistant. She later assisted in the family business doing secretarial work in the family owned building, which was the largest office building in Dubuque. She was a secret shopper and also worked at ADT security as an office manager in Melbourne, Fla.

She was involved in numerous groups and activities including singing in the church choir, PTA, playing bridge and going to her grandchildren's ball games. Recently, she had been a member of the staff parish group, produced the church's photo directory, sang at local nursing homes and was involved with Sunday school and M&M's at Faith United Methodist in Indian Trail.

She moved from Richland to Dubuque where she met her first husband Edward H. SHEPPLEY III. When their two daughters went to college, they moved to Orlando, Fla. Lillie later moved to Cocoa Beach, Fla., where she met Gene MULBERRY. They enjoyed traveling, visiting friends and relatives and just being together.

In 2005 they moved to be closer family.

Survivors include her husband of eight years, Eugene MULBERRY of Indian Trail; two daughters; Susan SHEPPLEY BROWER of Matthews, N.C. and Lisa SHEPPLEY of Baltimore, Md; two grandchildren; three sisters, Betty STUTZ of Kahoka, Mo., Faye CROW of Daytona Beach, Fla. and Mary KELLER of Fairfield; one brother, Terry LETTS of Olathe, Kan.; and her first husband of Dubuque.

She was preceded in death by five brothers; Judson, James, David, Emory and Marion LETTS.
