WILSON rites

Gertrude WILSON, 95, 401 Highland, died at 2:40 p.m. Monday at the Jefferson County Hospital. She was a native of Fairfield.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary Catholic Church with the Rev. William Sullivan officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Prayers for a Christian Wake will be recited at the Raymond Funeral Home at 7 p.m.

Gertrude WILSON was born Jan. 31, 1887, in Fairfield. She was the daughter of Thomas E. and Eva POSTLEWAIT FARISS. She lived most of her life in Fairfield and was a member of the Catholic Church.

In years past she was employed at the McLean Jewelry Store and Lane's Ready-To-Wear, both located on the north side of the square.

Her marriage to James P. WILSON took place September 9, 1906, in Fairfield. He died July 10, 1961.

Her husband was an accomplished artist and a number of Fairfield residents have his paintings.

Mrs. WILSON is survived by a niece, Mrs. Henry TRAWEEK, Baton Rouge, Ala.
