BATAVIA - The service for Marion E. HUNT, 83, of Batavia, who died Monday morning, Dec. 17, 1990, at Ottumwa Regional Health Center in Ottumwa, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Batavia United Methodist Church with the Rev. Thomas Clark officiating. Burial will be in Brethren Cemetery southeast of Batavia. Open visitation begins at 9 a.m. Wednesday at Campbell-Kremer Funeral Home in Batavia, where family visitation will be held 7 to 8:30 that evening. Memorials have been established to her church and Order of Eastern Star in Batavia.
Mrs. HUNT was born Nov. 23, 1907, in Green City, Mo., the daughter of Manna M. and Anna CRUM PRATT. The family moved to the Batavia area in 1920 and she graduated from Batavia High School. She married Ivo L. HUNT on Aug. 16, 1926, in Marengo. They farmed in Jefferson and Wapello counties until retiring and moved to Batavia in 1967. She was a member of Batavia United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school for many years. She also taught Sunday school at the former Mount Zion Methodist Church south of Batavia. She was a member of Arbor Vitae OES of Batavia and was a past worthy matron.
Surviving are three daughters, Juanita KOELE of Des Moines, Rose SHREVE of Santa Barbara, Calif., Margaret HAFAR of Centerville; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A grandson and a sister preceded her in death.
