Ivo L. HUNT

BATAVIA - The funeral service for Ivo L. HUNT, 88, of Batavia, who died Sunday, Aug. 12, 1990, at Ottumwa Regional Health Center, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Batavia United Methodist Church with the Rev. Thomas Clark officiating.

Burial will be in Brethren Cemetery near Batavia. A Masonic serice will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Campbell-Kremer Funeral Home in Batavia. Family members will greet friends after the service until 8:30. Open visitation will begin 9 a.m. Thursday.

HUNT was born Jan. 10, 1902, in Davis County, the son of W. C. and Margaret BURGER HUNT. He married Marion PRATT Aug. 16, 1926, in Marengo. She survives.

Hunt farmed in Jefferson County most of his life before retiring and moving to Batavia in 1967. He was a member of the Batavia United Methodist Church, where he was a lay leader and a Sunday school teacher. He was a member of the Brethren Cemetery Association and a former member of the school board and the Agricultural Sabilization and Conservation Service.

He was a 60-year member of the Kilwinning Masonic Lodge in Batavia and was active in all orders of the lodge.

Surviving are his wife; three daughters, Juanita KOELE of Des Moines, Rose SHREVE of Santa Barbara, Calif., and Margaret HARAR of Oskaloosa; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Van HUNT of Mason City; and one sister, Elvena McINTIRE of Fairfield.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, one sister and one grandson.

Memorials may be directed to his church or the Masonic Lodge in Batavia.
