STINESPRING Rites Saturday

Mrs. Edward STINESPRING, 89, resident of Fairfield for 60 years, died at 9 p.m. Wednesday at Jefferson Square Manor in Ottumwa. She had been in failing health the past two years.

Last rites will be Saturday at 2 p.m at the Raymond Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Trombley officiating. Burial will be in City Cemetery (sic - Old Fairfield City Cemetery).

Elizabeth Ann STINESPRING was born Aug. 25, 1881, at Taswell, Crawford County, Ind. She was the daughter of James and Amanda (sic - Maranda) ENLOW LANKFORD.

She was married to Edward STINESPRING on June 1, 1904, at Taswell, Ind. He passed away in 1914 (sic - January 28, 1915). She was also preceded in death by a sister and four brothers.

Mrs. STINESPRING is survived by one son, Virgil, rural route 4, with whom she had made her home. She is also survived by three brothers, George LANKFORD, Fort Dodge; Thomas LANKFORD, Jefferson; and Hardin LANKFORD, Fairfield.

She was a member of the Foursquare Church.

Note: Edward 'Eddie' STINESPRING was the first of three husbands. On September 21, 1915, she married Walter CRANDALL, who died January 10, 1921. On November 15, 1921, she married James Frederick HARPER, who died in 1961. She is buried in Old Fairfield Cemetery, Lot 122, with first husband Eddie; second husband Walter is also on the same lot. Third husband James is in Evergreen Cemetery - his first wife, also an Elizabeth, and their young son are buried in Evergreen as well.
